Mission Statement: The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of promoting, assisting, and encouraging the development of Dawson County's Economic, Educational, Social and Natural Resources in a manner consistent with preserving the county’s uniquely desirable quality of life. We are a non-profit, action-oriented membership organization of businesses, professionals, retirees and concerned individuals representing the best interest of Dawson County. The following are just a few of the ways that the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce serves our citizens.

Unified Voice in Government - The Chamber of Commerce acts as a liaison between concerned citizens and state and local government. Our members are informed on how their representatives are voting through pre and post legislative forums.

Community Involvement - By attending Chamber meetings, Business After Hours, and receiving our Chamber Chronicler, you stay informed on the activities and issues affecting our county.

Newcomer and Welcome Packs - Brochures and literature on Dawson County as well as the entire state of Georgia are available to new businesses and individuals.

New Move in Service- We prepare bags each month for new residents which include promotional items provided to us by our business members as well as brochures, flyers and rack cards.

Referral Services - Our office receives thousands of phone calls, letters and visits each year requesting business referrals. We refer only Chamber of Commerce members. Members can also display their literature in our Chamber Office.

Tourism - Chamber employees staff and manage the Welcome Center and Chamber Office. Information is distributed on local attractions and businesses in our county. The Chamber also promotes tourism by advertising our county in statewide publications and at other Welcome Centers.

Education - Your Chamber works closely with all levels of our school system to keep our members informed on issues affecting the future generations of Dawson County.

Direct Participation in the Future of Dawson County - Through your membership you are given the opportunity to participate with others on a committee or task force in an area of interest to you - Tourism, Education, Downtown Revitalization, Membership, Economic Development, Special Events.

Economic Development - Assist your Chamber in shaping the development of Dawson County as we work with the Development Authority to assure that Dawson County grows in a controlled and positive direction.

Research Information and Statistics - A wide array of demographical information including population, income, and economic reports is housed at the Chamber Office.

Ribbon-Cutting and Ground Breaking Ceremonies - The Chamber promotes business efforts in Dawson County by coordinating these ceremonies and giving local officials, community leaders, and other business-owners an opportunity to join us in welcoming new members to our area.

Liaison with Other Organizations and Civic Clubs - The Chamber maintains and distributes a list of other organizations in our county. We also invite civic organizations to list their special functions in our newsletter and on our calendar of events. A "Volunteer Opportunities in Dawson County" book describes how citizens may support the community with volunteer work. You can pick up your complementary copy from the Chamber or other area businesses.

Business Services - Chamber members may purchase mailing labels of our membership for a nominal fee. We maintain a Labor Database to assist our members in locating personnel. You will be provided with a membership directory which is included in our Dawson County Magazine. Members are encouraged to patronize other members when possible.

Drugs Don’t Work in Georgia Program – As a business member you will have the opportunity to participate in a statewide drug-free workplace program established by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Get involved with the fight against illegal drugs! Protect your company, family and friends. Not only will you have a drug free workplace but you will receive a 7 ½% premium credit also.

Health Care Coverage - Chamber health insurance program pays off! As a Dawson County Chamber of Commerce business member, you have access to the MemberCare Alliance of Dawson CountySM program. Dawson County Chamber members can take advantage of a comprehensive health insurance plan underwritten by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, Inc. This plan features group health insurance offering a premium discount of 3 to 5 percent for Chamber member businesses with 2 to 50 covered employees, depending on the size of your business and/or the plan you select.

Web-site Listings and Links - As a business member, you have free access to update, edit, add a hot deal, new event and job postings to your link on our website.

Free Newspaper Articles- New members will receive a free article in our Chamber Chronicle in the Dawson Community News and an article in the Dawson News & Advertiser.

Network, Network, Network- Come to our Chamber Luncheons the 2nd Thursday of each month and our Business After Hours the 4th Tuesday of each month. Meet other members and visitors to promote your business while learning of the other business members.
